Yoga at Kenny's
Over the course of the summer, Kenny's hosted 16 yoga classes for participants of all levels. We are thrilled at the quality of instructors that we were able to get to teach the yogis: Felicia Lane Savage of YogaRoots on Location and Amanda Rubio of MoWa Yoga both brought their talent and passion to ensure great classes each time! We can't wait for next season!

Cancers, Cookies, and Cocktails
On Saturday, July 8th, Demi, Nisha, and Marteen celebrated their birthdays in style, yet again! Over 90 people (friends, family, Homewood natives and Homewood first-timers) came out to HAVE SOME FUN! It was a tremendous success!
Music was provided by DJ Selecta - the best in the Burgh & it showed... the dance party was unreal!
Signature cocktails (and sangria popsicles!) were provided by Wine & Words with locally brewed beer provided by East End Brewing.
We also had Revival Chili and Leon's Caribbean Restaurant bring their food trucks and serve up some delicious food!
Last, but of course not least, Giant Eagle and Eat & Park donated all the cookies (over 250!) for the celebration!

Kenny’s Kickoff Happy Hour
On January 27, 2017, Kenny’s team held a Happy Hour to kickoff the Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign. A total of 46 people came to Knotzland to find out more about what activities are planned, contribute to the campaign, mingle with some awesome people, and hang out in one of Homewood’s premier businesses, Knotzland! Homewood-based business 7 Senses and Wine & Words catered the event.
Cancers and Cookies 2016
After acquiring the lot in the spring of 2016, Demi wanted to activate it and not only celebrate the space but also open it up to the community. She and two good friends decided to use their July birthdays as an opportunity to bring the space alive. It was a perfect combination as one of them is a Homewood resident and the other has also invested in Homewood through her work.
The party kicked off July 9th, creating a summer event to remember. Friends, family, neighbors attended a cookout/dance party/neighborhood gathering that brought together so many people of different ages, backgrounds, races, income levels, etc.
That night, one of the sentiments repeated was that the event reminded long-time residents of what Homewood used to be like. In that moment, Demi, Marteen, and Nisha began to dream of what the space could be for the community moving forward.
